The Challenge

Heritage publication Maxim honored Teyana Taylor as the magazine’s first ever Black sexiest woman alive. To commemorate the momentous occasion, the Maxim team threw a massive party in Los Angeles. Our team was tapped to amplify the affair by securing curtain raiser press as well as post-event coverage. Our team also set up and handled all red carpet logistics. Our team also handled VIP and celebrity greetings and walked all notable personalities down the carpet. We were also in charge of sponsor deliverables, making sure all stakeholders received all necessary contract points by the end of the night.

The Strategy

Teyana Taylor being named the first Black “Sexiest Woman Alive” for a heritage publication like Maxim was messaging that our team deemed necessary in all of our interactions. We carefully crafted assets that didn’t allow for the most important point to be lost in the event excitement. Being the first event after a long COVID pandemic, our team expertly set up protocols for photographers, crews, and celebrity attendees. Our team tiered out carpet attendees and coordinated interviews for Teyana. Inside the event our seasoned team walked with photographers and videographers to capture content. Our celebrity approvals also took place onsite. After the event, our team of publicists pitched out items and secured national and international placements. All messaging and sponsorship mentions were included in our coverage.

Our efforts provided massive ROI for all stakeholders including Maxim, sponsors and event producers. The red carpet was well attended by top-tier outlets and Teyana’s team was ecstatic at the organization and coordination of interviews onsite. Coverage ran in the industry’s top entertainment press outlets including The Hollywood Reporter, Power 106, OK! Magazine, Hollywood Life, Complex, REVOLT, INSIDER, Billboard, Access Hollywood, to name a few, garnering over 4,140,709,260 impressions and over $33 million in media value.
